Memory Chain · a pilot in the EarthMeta cities of Ifestio (Ninoki)
The land remembers.
Not because it's digital. But because someone did.
“There isn't a single memory in the world that doesn't have geographic coordinates.”
The idea
Memory Chain is a layer of memories above the map: short stories tied to real places. I first proposed it as an EarthMeta DAO proposal in July 2025, as Ifestio (Ninoki).
Places change. A big tree is cut down, an old school closes, a street gets a new name. When nobody writes it down, the memory is gone. Memory Chain keeps it, pinned to the place where it happened.
How it works
- Short: 1–5 sentences about one place in one of my EarthMeta cities.
- Today or long ago: your own memory, or ask your grandparents what used to be there – a big tree, an old school, a market.
- One photo, no faces: a place, a detail, an old postcard. Optional.
- A pseudonym is fine: you choose the name shown with your memory.
- Not for sale: memories are not sold and not tradeable. They are kept, not traded.
It starts as a small pilot in my own cities. I hope that one day it can live inside EarthMeta for everyone.
Leave a memory
Write me an e-mail – the template asks for the city, place, year, your memory, a pseudonym and your consent to publish. I read every memory before it appears here.

First memories coming soon.
Independent project, not an official EarthMeta feature. See the privacy policy for how memories are handled.
